“Another Billion Back” Proposed for Ohio Employers

September 10, 2014  |  Education, Workers' Comp Updates

Due to “sound fiscal management and a well-executed investment strategy” the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Gov. John Kasich have announced another rebate for Ohio employers. This rebate will impact approximately 184,000 private and 3,800 public employers.

“Ohio continues its effort to transform the workers’ comp system to be a better partner with employers and workers to help them succeed and stay safe, and the ability to make these types of significant rebates is part of that effort,“Kasich said.

The rebate for eligible employers would be equal to 60 % of premiums paid between the July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 policy year.

Another Billion Back also seeks to build on last year’s $15 million investment in safety intervention grants that will provide several initiatives geared to enhance the safety, health and wellness for Ohio’s workforce.

The Ohio BWC Board will need to do a final approval before Ohio employers will see any money. The proposal will be presented to the board in August and if approved in September you might be receiving your rebate check as early as October.
